Jonny & Pauline's stunning Kilmore House Wedding

Updated: Feb 22, 2023

Shooting a wedding for a couple you already know is both exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time. Pauline & Jonny, a couple who had never thought about marriage until they met each other. Pauline had told me about the time she was having lunch with her sisters and the 'M' word was brought up and Pauline looked out the window and told her sisters, I'd marry Jonny in that field today if I could. This then was a case of serendipity as the venue they chose was surrounded by beautiful fields and hills which played a big part in them choosing the absolutely stunning Kilmore Country House.

Pauline opted to get ready in Antrim Coast apartments where her and Jonny had spent time as a couple. Pauline was glammed up by Andrew Cotter and Shannon Mawk Make up. Alongside her family, the morning was very chilled and it wasn't long before Pauline was buzzing to go see her soon to be husband.

When Pauline arrived at Kilmore, she then was able to put on her stunning dress and there wasn't a jaw that didn't drop in the room, she was flawless. Pauline watched out the window as her guests arrived and when she seen a glimpse of Jonny in his suit, she was like a giddy schoolgirl. A lot of brides are a bag of nerves when it comes close to the wedding co-ordinator knocking on the door, saying...its time, but Pauline was ready, she was ready to become Mrs Gilliland.

The sun was shining, the backdrop to the stunning outdoor ceremony was picturesque and there were smiles all around. I always focus on the groom when the bride makes her entrance and Jonny's face lit up when he saw Pauline walk towards him with her proud Dad Ray. You could not wipe the smiles of either of their faces throughout the whole ceremony.

After they exchanged their vows, we took advantage of the amazing scenery and began our family/bridal photos then as their guests enjoyed some beautiful live music and relaxed, we went onto the beautiful Glenariff Waterfall and Cushendall Beach. I have never saw a bride hike in bridal shoes until this day and not one care was given how much muck was around, she just wanted to get stuck in (no pun intended).

It was time for speeches and for personal circumstances, they were extremely heartfelt and emotional, there was a lot of love in the room for the newlyweds. After the bellies were full, it was time to party and Mr Colin Patterson did not disappoint.

Pauline & Jonny, thank you for letting me capture your day, it was amazing from start to finish.

For anyone thinking of a unique, beautiful venue, Kilmore Country House will not disappoint and feel free to get in touch if you would like me to capture your amazing day there too....
